Howard Ehrenberg is the founder and lead WordPress developer at Duck Diver. His work includes custom WordPress and WooCommerce development, hosting and server management, SEO, online marketing, and specialized systems designed around real business operations.
Howard has developed a number of specialized solutions for the dive industry, including boat reservation systems, digital waiver workflows, equipment ordering tools, membership systems, customer portals, and integrations connecting websites with the work happening behind the counter.
Diving and Shipwreck Exploration
Howard has been diving since 2003 and is certified as a PADI, SDI, and TDI instructor with extensive recreational, technical, and wreck diving experience. His training includes trimix, rebreathers, full-face masks, and surface-supplied diving equipment.
Howard worked with wreck diver John Chatterton on shipwreck exploration projects in the Dominican Republic, including the search for the Golden Fleece, the legendary pirate ship commanded by Joseph Bannister. The expedition became the subject of Robert Kurson’s bestselling book Pirate Hunters.
Howard has also appeared as a diver and wreck exploration specialist on the History Channel programs The Curse of Oak Island and The Curse of Civil War Gold.
Technology, Business, and Production
Howard’s background extends well beyond web development. Before Duck Diver, he worked in live concert production as a stage manager and sound engineer, including time touring with nationally performing acts. He later owned retail stores in Colorado and Florida, giving him firsthand experience with sales, marketing, customer service, inventory, and the day-to-day realities of running a small business.
His interest in computers began during the early days of personal computing and eventually grew into a career combining technology, business strategy, marketing, and practical problem solving. That varied background continues to shape Duck Diver’s approach: understand how the business works, identify where technology can help, and build something useful and maintainable.
